Brief Description:
Flying in mid-winter this distinctive black, hairy moth is often over-looked. In some areas it can be found quite commonly. It occupies a variety of habitats where broad-leaved trees are found.
Confusion Species:
None. The time of year and appearance of the moth should eliminate any confusion.
Comments:
Likely to be under recorded in many areas because of its mid-winter flight period.
