Till 2006, a single Irish record at
Passage West Co. Cork, on 16th Sep 1906. It is thought to have arrived by
steamer from England.
100 years later to the day, on 16th Sep 2006 one was seen in Co. Louth.
Subsequently 2 more sightings in 2006 from Co. Louth were reported as well.
It seems likely that Red Underwing is resident in Co. Louth and possibly resides
undetected in neighbouring counties.
